Comments: Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor. Kate has worked as a professional therapist for the past twelve years and she chose to enter the counseling field to provide support to those with Acquired Brain injury. Her own experience as a TBI survivor enables her to have a deeper understanding of what her clients are going through and how to best support them.

Services Provided: Offers specialized therapy for brain injury survivors and their families navigating the many changes that have occurred in their lives, sense of self and relationships.

Cost/Funding: Accepts most insurances. Please check website for more information. Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.

Comments: 36 years experience in the mental health field. Has experience and training in working with clients with Acquired &Traumatic Brain Injury, Strokes and other cognitive impairments. He is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.

William Temple House

Services Provided: Offers counseling services for low-income individuals and families in the Portland area.

Cost/Funding: A sliding scale fee of $5 to $30 per session is charged for individual, couples and family counseling services.

Comments: Please fill out an application at the William Temple House Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10am and 7pm. Counseling is available weekdays and some evenings by appointment. Counseling services provided by graduate students. Wheelchair accessible.

Gregory Cole PhD

Services Provided: A clinical psychologist offering individual therapy. Teaches ways to manage change in cognitive functions and how to handle emotional and behavior changes that have occurred due to the brain injury.

Cost/Funding: Accepts most insurance plans and private pay.

Comments: Over 20+ years of experience working with the brain injury survivors. Also offers neuropsychological evaluations. Wheelchair accessible.
