The Mt. Tabor Walk & Litter Patrol is a community service and social outing at Mt. Tabor Park off SE Salmon way in Portland, Oregon. This is a great opportunity for anyone to come and give back to the community while getting some fresh air and light exercise by keeping a well loved park litter free!
These outings are for anyone with a Brain Injury who can manage independently, or along with a support person, as well as Friends, Family, Caregivers, and dogs on leash. All are welcome. Board members and other volunteers are also encouraged to join.
Portland Parks provides us with buckets, pickers, and gloves. We patrol for litter while walking to the top of Mt. Tabor and back at a conversational pace. We break as needed for those needing or wanting a short rest. Average time round trip is about 1.5 hours.
We are outdoors in the elements unless it is unsafe. Please wear appropriate attire and sturdy walking shoes. Hike host is a volunteer who loves the park while supporting an outdoor activity with a service component.
