It is with deep gratitude and admiration that we announce the retirement of Fern, our long-serving Vice President, from her executive position.

From the very beginning, Fern has been the heart and driving force behind our mission to support brain injury survivors and their families. For more than a decade, all the way back into the days of BIRRDsong, she has led with vision, compassion, and unwavering dedication—fueling the work that has made our organization thrive.

Thanks to Fern’s tireless efforts within the brain injury community and beyond into the state level, countless survivors have found community, resources, and hope. Her leadership has helped build Brain Injury Connections – Northwest into the strong, welcoming place it is today. As a result of her unwavering dedication, the impact of her service will continue to ripple forward for years to come.

While we will miss Fern’s steady presence in the role of Vice President, we celebrate this milestone with gratitude for all that she has given. On behalf of our members, board, and community, we extend our warmest thanks and best wishes for this next chapter of life.

We are grateful that this isn’t goodbye; she will continue to be involved in our community.

Please join us in honoring Fern’s extraordinary contributions and in celebrating the lasting legacy of compassion and leadership she leaves behind.

With heartfelt appreciation,
The Entire Brain Injury Connections – Northwest Community
